Medicare Prescription Drug Plans

Medicare Prescription Drug Plans provide drug coverage with a monthly premium. You have to be enrolled in either Part A or Part B before you can enroll in a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan
In case, you have Prescription Drug Coverage through a Medicare Advantage Plan:
    You may experience changes in your benefits every year
  • An “Annual Notice of Change” will also be sent out to you each fall to let you know the modifications in your benefits, payment and service area and this change will be applicable from January until the end of the year. In case you have a plan which covers Prescription Drug Plan (PDP), it will also show changes in the drug plan effective for the upcoming year.
  • Every year, all Medicare eligible enrollees can switch, drop and join Medicare programs other than your current program from October 15-December 7 each year. Your coverage for the new plan (if you change) will be effective from January 1 of the upcoming year.
  • In case of limited income resources, you may be eligible to qualify for Extra Help for your Medicare Prescription Drug coverage.
